Cutler Maine is a beautiful lobstering village located on the Bay of Fundy with sweeping views of headlands and Grand Manan Island. Our cottage is located directly on the harbor in Cutler Maine with over 500 feet of shore front and deep water anchorage. The harbor is a protected anchorage for lobster boats and passing yachts. Located on the Bold Coast, Cutler Maine is the gateway to Machias Seal Island where puffin birds nest, and both harbor and horse head seals abound.
If you are interested in experiencing the authentic Maine Coast and don't want a "tourist" experience then Cutler Maine is an ideal spot for you. The headlands that frame the entrance to Cutler Harbor are protected conservation areas that are easily accessed by hiking trails maintained by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. A short stroll into the village brings you out to the docks where fresh lobster can be purchased as the boats unload their daily catch. Walk down a few steps from our privately located cottage and you will be on your own private pier with easy access to the stone beach. Quietly watch the famous Bay of Fundy tides or jump in our row boat and enjoy exploring the old damn or the many coves that make up Cutler Harbor.
Lubec Maine and West Quoddy Head Light (the eastern most point in the United States) is only a 15 minute ride along the coast. Campobello Island in Canada is just another 5 minutes past Lubec where you can visit Roosevelt's summer home. Cutler Harbor is ideally situated for exploring Downeast Maine or the perfect spot to just relax and and enjoy the coast of Maine without the commercialism and tourists that flock to areas south of us. Call for more information as we love to talk about Cutler Maine; its wonders and the special place it is for our family, and can be for yours.
